Recap: CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 Reveals the Latest in Lifting Equipment

Scott-Macon Equipment attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG March 7-11, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. Held every three years, this international gathering place for construction industries brought together some of the top name brands exhibiting the latest technologies and innovations in equipment, products and services.

With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space, the show had a record 2,800-plus exhibitors from the leading U.S. and global manufacturers, from multinational giants to small firms with specialized products. In addition, it showcased more than 150 extensive industry-targeted education sessions. The event highlighted the newest product innovations and best practices for the construction and construction materials and fluid power/power transmission/motion control industries.

As a leading dealer of Terex, DEMAG, Broderson, Tadano, and Tadano-Mantis cranes, Scott-Macon Equipment's reps were available at each manufacturer's booth to assist customers in evaluating new products to fulfill their lifting requirements.

The Terex and Demag lines released their latest innovations at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. On display was the 5-axle All-Terrain Demag AC200-5, offering class lift capacities from 130-250 t. It has the longest main boom reach of any 5-axle crane on the market, extending to a full 324.8 ft. with boom extensions. Also introduced were the RT100US, with a five section, full hydraulic boom that extends 154 ft. and the T110 telescopic truck crane with the longest boom length in its class and available maximum tip height of 247.6 ft with jib. Scott-Macon Equipment representatives were at the Terex booth to provide information on this crane’s latest technology, engineering, and features to enhance productivity while reducing operating costs.

Broderson Cranes Releases New Rough Terrain

One of the biggest announcements from Broderson was the release of their new RT400 Rough Terrain crane. On display, they featured the IC-600 Carry Deck Crane with a 30t capacity naming it the largest capacity and longest reach carry deck crane on the market. The crane also featured an electronic joy stick operated control system that satisfies operator preference over hydraulic controls for a crane of this size.

Among the new products showcased by Tadano at CONEXPO-CON/AGG was the latest in their line of Rough Terrain cranes, the GR1200XL-2. Tadano successfully unveiled the newest and largest 2-axel crane, showcasing the industry’s longest boom and jib combinations. Also on display was our very own Tadano GR1600XL with one of the largest class capacities in Rough Terrain cranes. Tadano reintroduce the ATF110G-5 All-Terrain crane as well with representatives providing information on the new upgrades and enhanced features, including multiple counterweight configurations and the new AML-F load moment system.

 

Tadano-Mantis Cranes Showcases Crawler Cranes

Exciting things were happening at the Tadano-Mantis booth as well. Not one, but TWO Telescopic Boom Crawler Cranes in the GTC series line were showcased, the GTC-600 and GTC-800. Scott-Macon representatives informed visitors that both cranes follow the concept to design and build a telescopic boom crawler cranes that meet the requirements of the growing Tadano Mantis core markets of power transmission, bridge and civil, and foundation construction while expanding the broader appeal of the crane toward lift crane based markets. In addition to these two models, Tadano-Mantis debuted its OPTI-WIDTH track positioning system allowing optimum lifting performance at any track width.
